Cheryl Komis - Wedding Planner

A Perfect Day Weddings was launched five years ago after Cheryl Komis got bitten by the wedding planning bug while planning her daughter's garden-style wedding in Lexington, Ky.

Cheryl is particularly familiar with Louisville and Oldham County wedding sites and vendors and is skilled in creating successful outdoor weddings in both urban and rural settings. She excels at listening to what brides want and creating that vision within their budget. Her creativity and artistic eye are central to her life, from creating murals in homes and businesses — even painting a Gallapalooza horse for U of L in 2009 — to seasonal vignettes in her garden.

Why Hire a Wedding Planner?

Wedding Cake - Sara & Nate, 2011
  • » Planning a wedding can quickly become a part-time job. The average bride spends 250 hours organizing her wedding - equal to 6 full-time working weeks! Since there are so many details involved in planning a wedding today, a wedding planner can be an invaluable “best friend” to the bride and her family.
  • » A good wedding planner can pay for themselves, saving a bride and her family time and money, getting the most for her budget, and orchestrating the day for her so she can relax and enjoy her dream wedding. Similarly, the mother and father of the bride will need to have time to host their guests, rather than struggling behind the scenes to trouble shoot the inevitable last-minute problems and help pay vendors.
  • » Whether it’s handling those late emergencies or negotiating contracts throughout the process, a knowledgable wedding planner can allow you and your family to enjoy the wedding you dreamed about, without all the stress that can come with it.

Things to think about when considering a wedding planner:

  • Are you able to visit vendors and sites during daytime office hours?
  • How much time do I realistically have to plan my wedding?
  • Am I confident in dealing with contracts, potential disagreements with vendors, or last minute problems?
  • Would it be helpful to have an experienced person help me execute my vision for this day?
